Press Release
4/3/2009
Announcing a grass roots
fund raising project to give Hawaiians a voice in the
courts!

Hawaiians for too
long have been missing in action in the courts.
While they have
protested and marched to the deaf ears of the State Government and
Governor Lingle, the State of Hawaii has been moving quickly to
sell off their land without the owners being represented in the
courts!
The Supreme Court of
the United States has determined that the Office of Hawaiian
Affairs [OHA] does not represent the Hawaiian National's
interest. We sat in the Supreme Court and were surprised to
hear OHA argue that the State of Hawaii has “Perfect Title” to the
so called “Ceded Lands”! So why is the agency that claims to
represent “native hawaiian” interest is arguing that Hawaiians have
no legal claim on the land left to then as a private trust?
Because they are the State [OHA is a state agency] and they share
the goal to disenfranchise Kanaka Maoli national's legal
claims.
Five
Bucks to hire a law firm!
We are asking
Hawaiians to just pledge $5 dollars each. They are
impoverished today and yet as beneficiaries they have been cut off
from their property. This is a large amount of land and its
revenue would have easily afford them more than enough money to
hire many law firms.
We also are
appealing to anyone who would like to see a just outcome for a
people long suffering under American occupation of their land and
resources. We encourage you to pledge or donate whatever you
can to reach a simple goal of getting Hawaiians for the first time
in 116 years legal representation.
Please
go to the Petition and support us any way you can! Even if
you just sign on your support for our cause, everything
helps!
